Along with Las Vegas Web Design services we also offer custom Twitter Designs. What is a Custom Twitter design? Twitter allows you to add your own background image to your Twitter page. I am going to show you what you need to know to make the most of your Twitter page to extend the brand of your Las Vegas Business.

The first things to keep in mind are the design limitations put in place by Twitter. Your background image can either be static or it can tile. Either format you choose you must keep this in mind when you are coming up with the design.

I myself try to stay away from a tiling background. It tends to look too busy. So when you design a Twitter background you have to consider that your Twitter page will grow in height, and people will be viewing it at different resolutions.

In regards to the growing height you must design your background so that it can fade to a solid color. This is the only way to keep the design from looking like you simply uploaded a big image. You don't want to see a definite edge on the bottom.

Same holds true for the width of your background. I have two 27 inch monitors for my computer that use a 1920x1080 resolution. When I view Twitter I see a lot of space to the left and right. If I view it on my Netbook, Twitter barely fits inside the width of the screen. So why is this important? Your design has to be appealing to everyone that views your Twitter page.

When you think of small monitors, you want to make sure your design will not get too much covered by the Twitter interface on the left side of the screen. To the right, again you don't want your background image to have a definite edge, so be sure to fade your image to a solid color.

The other design limitation is that you can not choose to center your background image like you can on YouTube. So when you are designing your background think about how it will look when it is left aligned.

Another factor to weigh is that under the navigation bar there is a small space of transparency, so your design will show through in that area. On our Graphic Web Design Twitter page, we made sure our image starts just below where the header on Twitter ends.

The other part of designing a Twitter design is the color choices for links, main content area background color, and side bar background color. If you choose a dark color for the side bar and a light color for the content area you have to make sure the link color you choose will show up on both light and dark colors.

That is really all there is to know about designing a custom Twitter page. Even though you are limited in what you can do, at least Twitter will never look like MySpace...ugh!
